Sydney Research Cloud: Changes to Research Computing

Abstract
Research computing at Sydney is changing. The University’s legacy research computing service, Artemis, is being replaced with broad access to tier 1 national digital infrastructure with a focus on NCI (National Computational Infrastructure).

NCI will be an ongoing solution for research computing at Sydney, as part of Sydney Research Cloud.

This seminar provides an overview of changes to research computing in 2025 and advice about accessing NCI. It will include an explanation of NCI and its capabilities, how to get started on NCI, and where to find resources and get help.

A small proportion of researchers may not be able to transition easily to NCI so the session will also include an overview of alternative options.
