Nila Fernando

Nila Fernando is a Research Assistant (RA) within the EarthByte Group, working under the supervision of Dr Maria Seton and Dr Dietmar Müller. She is in her first year of a Bachelor of Advanced Computing at the University of Sydney, majoring in Computer Science and Computational Data Science. Nila contributes to the development and testing of workflows using pyGPlates and helps maintain documentation for pyGPlates and GPlately. Her academic interests include machine learning, sustainable energy, and geospatial data science. When she’s not deciphering cryptic error messages, she loves to unwind by spending her time crafting, reading, and exploring music!
