The University of Sydney EarthByte group is currently involved in two climate projects: one linking ocean thermal and mechanical energy to climate change and the other identifying and quantifying mechanisms of warming during the Miocene Climatic Optimum.
Miocene palaeoclimate modelling -
18 September, 2008 - We have had CAM/CLM working for some time now and have been running Miocene simulations using reconstructed vegetation, SST, carbon dioxide, orbital parameters and topography. Finalised (version 1) topography and bathymetry are up here.
3 March, 2008 - Currently we are finishing the development of our final middle Miocene global geography, topography and bathymetry dataset. This was developed using the global rotation model of Muller et al. (2008) and published geological data. Figures up soon...
